Why does this service exist?
A love of music and a desire to offer a clean entertainment alternative
have fueled this service since it's beginning in the mid 80's. We're out
to prove that you can have "good clean fun with good clean music".
We're tired of inappropriate entertainment and feel that people want to
have a good time without compromising their values. We believe that
music is a strong communicator. We want to make sure the message
matches your beliefs.
Who?
Since it's inception in 1986, Rock the Flock has had one owner/operator:
Chuck Towns.
Chuck created Rolling Ministries in 1983 to introduce teens to
contemporary Christian music and to offer it as a clean alternative.
For over 21 years, Chuck has entertained and given challenging messages
to hundreds of teens.
In 1986 Chuck created Rock the Flock Productions, a Christian music
mobile DJ Service that has played at over 400 events.
Chuck worked full time in sales and management in Christian radio for
over a decade. He also spent 6 years at Life Promotions as a
department manager and Production Manager. He was also the Road
Manager, touring nationally with speaker Bob Lenz and various
enterainers.
Chuck was the Production/Stage Manager for all stages at the first
6 Lifest Christian music festivals in Oshkosh, WI. He has also
worked at and helped organize the first 13 Power of One events in
Green Bay. Chuck has also independently organized and promoted
over 25 Christian concerts. Chuck now operates Rock the Flock
Productions full time.
What else?
Chuck has an extensive speaking background on the subject of music
and media. He has spoken in public and private Schools, Churches and
weekend youth conferences. Chuck also provided the message each
week for three summers at Ecumenical services at a local campground.
Chuck began researching music and media it's affect on our mind and
spirit in 1982. From this research, he has presented a program called
"Music, Media and the Mind; how to make good entertainment choices"
to over 50 youth and adult groups. A shorter version of this presentation
can be incorporated into the dance when requested.
Chuck volunteers on the Technical team of the Fine Arts Department at
his church. He has also been the Technical Director of several full scale
musicals.
Chuck and his wife Amy have two sons and are lifelong residents of the
Fox River Valley in east central Wisconsin.
